CASA SANTA MARGHERITA
The project rethinks a small holiday apartment in Santa Margherita, introducing a new stair that connects the domestic interior to the rooftop terrace, extending the experience of the home towards the sky and the sea.
Rather than altering the existing plan, the intervention works within its established logic, transforming the atmosphere through material, colour and light.
A restrained palette draws from the character of the Ligurian coast. Changes in flooring define the different territories of the apartment, while blue tones evoke the sea and timber elements recall the interiors of boats, introducing a subtle maritime language.
Light becomes an architectural material. Warm, integrated illumination responds to the small openings and inclined ceilings, creating an intimate atmosphere while enhancing the textures and surfaces. The existing rooftop door is transformed into a glazed opening, bringing additional daylight into the interior and strengthening the connection between the apartment and the terrace.
